Law firm Stone King Sewell has opened a new office in Wiltshire as part of a strategy to strengthen links with its commercial and private clients in the region.

The new branch office in Melksham – which will be staffed by solicitors and support personnel – will offer local businesses and individuals city quality legal expertise on their doorstep.

Clients across central Wiltshire will also benefit from easy access to Stone King Sewell’s team of legal experts based at the firm’s other offices in Bath, London and Cambridge.

The new office at New Hall, Market Square, will be headed by partners Sarah Lane and Robin Boyd. Sarah deals with all aspects of commercial property work, including finance, property acquisitions and disposals, and commercial lease work. She has particular expertise in licensed property transactions involving public houses, hotels, restaurants and petrol filling stations.

Robin also has special expertise in relation to the brewing and leisure industries, as well as advising private clients and businesses on a broad range of legal matters. Fellow partner Andrew Mortimer will also be working frequently from the new office on a range of private client matters.

“We welcome being close to our many valued clients and contacts in central Wiltshire,” said Sarah. “Our new office in Melksham also offers an alternative choice to other businesses and individuals in the area who will value the expertise and service that we offer.”

Robin, Sarah and Andrew all live in central Wiltshire and are very much parts of their communities. Sarah is involved in Melksham charity work acting for a local foundation that provides sports facilities for all ages in the local community.

Robin commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for Stone King Sewell to provide the geographical link to London and elsewhere in the UK, as well as the expert advice that modern businesses and private clients in Wiltshire need.”

Managing Partner Steven Greenwood said: “Opening an office in Melksham is part of our strategy to build and develop our extensive existing links within the community there. I am delighted that we are now able to serve our Wiltshire clients on their own doorstep and offer them local access to our nationally renowned legal services.”
