Following a competitive tendering process, Wiltshire- based company Hills Waste Solutions Limited secured its footing in Bristol when it recently signed contracts to handle a combined total of more than 1,000 tonnes of waste per year; from both the University of Bristol (UoB) and the University of the West of England (UWE).

The three year deal will see the company collecting from nine sites in and around Bristol, including a veterinary school in Langford.

Speaking about the recent change in service provider, Mark Webster, the environment manager at UWE said: “We’ve been very happy with the way in which Hills has picked up the service.  They have quickly got to grips with the variety of sites we have, as well as responding professionally and efficiently to extra service requests.”

Asked to comment about the latest success for Hills Waste Solutions, Alex Marland, business development manager for the company said: “In the past few months we have concentrated on establishing our company in this area and it is encouraging to be successful despite the difficult economic climate. Our services are competitive and customers respond to the fact that we tailor our service to suit their requirements.”
