An international technology company has chosen Swindon for its new UK headquarters.
Canadian-owned Cleeve Technology, which specialises in the design, integration and supply of electrical interconnect solutions, has moved the headquarters of its UK distribution and manufacturing arm from Wigan to Swindon.
Withy King Solicitors’ commercial property team in Swindon worked closely with Cleeve Technology to identify suitable premises at Kembrey Park and secure a five-year lease for the company.
“There are some great deals to be had in Swindon where tenants have a range of high quality units to choose from,” commented Greg Callard, a commercial property solicitor at Withy King in Swindon, who advised Cleeve Technology on the move. “Ultimately landlords and tenants want the same result and in today’s challenging climate, if both parties are flexible and take a sensible view, they can ensure the premises are occupied on terms that work for both of them.”
Cleeve Technology employs 16 people at Kembrey Park and plans to recruit more staff over the coming months.
UK managing director, Derek Chambers, explained: “We chose Swindon for our UK headquarters because of its history and reputation for skilled workers in the field of electrical interconnect manufacture. As the company grows, so will the opportunities for further recruitment. We will be looking to strengthen our existing resources in sales, design, manufacture and warehouse operations.
“Cleeve Technology has ambitions plans for growth backed by investment and the creation of an infrastructure which will allow the company to grow in new markets and activities,” said Derek.
Cleeve Technology’s products include wires and cables, connectors, contacts, backshells, heat shrinkable tubing and moulded parts used extensively in industrial, telecommunications, marine, military and aerospace industries.
The company will be exhibiting at the Defence Systems & Equipment International Exhibition at EXCEL, London Docklands, from 8th to 11th September.
