The first Sovereign residents have recently moved into the first phase of rented homes in East Wichel. The East Wichel phase is the first part of the Wichelstowe development to be completed and will help to form the new Wichelstowe community.

Each of the Sovereign homes at East Wichel has been designed so that every house has its own individual character and style. Sovereign is offering a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom and three-bedroom homes for both intermediate rental and part buy, part rent. This allows people to either buy a 50 per cent share of a property and pay an affordable rent for the share that they own or alternatively pay a low rent with option to part buy, part rent in the future.

Mrs S Watts, of 126 East Wichel Way, Wichelstowe, commented: “I’m really pleased with my new property. The Sovereign Housing Staff have been really helpful every step of the way and made the whole stress of moving hassle free.”

Terry Black, Neighbourhood Investment Coordinator for Sovereign Housing Association, who has been working closely with building a new community at East Wichel, noted, “This is great news for the new East Wichel community, we are really pleased to have residents moving into these well designed homes at last. It is an exciting time with a new community taking shape and Sovereign will be offering special support to new residents as they settle in.”
