Celebrations went with a bang in Swindon last night (Thursday 28th May) as the Campanile Hotel Swindon celebrated the official unveiling of its £1.5m refurbishment.

Campanile, a leading European hotel group with 385 hotels and restaurants located across nine European countries, has revealed its new look hotel to local businesses with a team of Sabreurs marking the occasion by opening champagne bottles with a single stroke of their swords.

The Campanile brand offers business and leisure customers comfort combined with affordable quality.  Campanile’s new look as featured in Swindon marks a refreshing departure from the traditional budget hotel concept.

Swindon’s new Mayor, Councillor David Wren, said: “I am delighted that Campanile has chosen Swindon as the location for its latest refurbished hotel and restaurant.  At a time when we hear so much gloomy news of businesses struggling, it is fantastic to be able to welcome Campanile’s investment in our region and to celebrate the commitment to business growth that this represents.”

The Campanile brand is part of Louvre Hotels and operates in the highly competitive economy hotel sector where it has a strong track-record of profitable development and sustained growth.

David Anderson, director of operations for Northern Europe, explains that Campanile’s new look is the result of its dialogue with customers: “Times change, and so do our customers’ needs.  We’ve built our customers’ feedback into the contemporary look of our hotels and our restaurant menu.  We’ve also consulted leading experts including the interior designer, Patrick Jouin.  We are proud to showcase the new design and restaurant menu here in the UK at the Campanile Hotel in Swindon.”

At the celebration event, Campanile offered guests drawn from local businesses the opportunity to `speed-taste’ a range of canapés which showcase the restaurant’s healthy, seasonal and generous buffet and a la carte menu.  Guests were also be able to view the Campanile’s state-of-the-art conference and meeting-room facilities and the spacious and ultra-contemporary bedrooms featuring free WiFi access and wall-mounted LCD screens.

In keeping with Campanile’s French roots, a team of Sabreurs marked the formal launch by opening a magnum of champagne using only a sword and inviting guests to try their hand too.

The Campanile Hotel and Restaurant is an ideal location for tourists visiting the Swindon region and for businesses looking for conference, dining and meeting room facilities.
