On behalf of Wilstead Properties Plc, Whitmarsh Lockhart has concluded a 23,000 sq ft letting to Nationwide.

Nationwide Building Society, advised by Colliers CRE, has taken the entire lower ground floor east wing following the completion of a complex program of refurbishment which was overseen by Whitmarsh Lockhart’s Building Surveying Department, WL Building Surveyors.

Andrew Body, Head of WL’s Building Surveyors, acted as employers agent in the project management of the strip out of the former restaurant area of Wakefield House, and refurbishment as new, high specification offices.  Part of the scheme included a turn key package including furniture and IT services.  The works were undertaken by a local contractor, Beard, and were finished on budget almost two months’ early.

Daniel Smethurst, head of office agency department and partner at Whitmarsh Lockhart commented: “During a time when the office market across the UK is experiencing a significant downturn, Aspect Park continues to attract a great deal of interest because of its excellent location and unique design which has attracted the likes of BP, Smiths News and Infosys Technologies.  We currently have a further 7,500 sq ft under offer which will take lettings to in excess of 60,000 sq ft over a twelve month period, a fantastic achievement.”
