Commercial Property Developer, Eagle Land, has secured planning permission to redevelop the former Plessey canteen site at Cheney Manor Industrial Estate. The two acre site now has consent to be developed for up to 13 Trade/Industrial units totalling 35,000 sq ft.  Whitmarsh Lockhart is advising Eagle Land.

Paul Withers, director at Eagle Land, commented: “Following clearance of the site, everything is now ready to move forward with the development. Our original intention was to speculatively develop for a target market of trade counter operators; naturally this sector has cooled in line with the general economy.

“We are however talking to a wide variety of potential occupiers who would benefit from being located on such a high profile site on this very busy road. There is a move away from the demand for freeholds that we saw 12 months ago, due to the difficulty occupiers are having raising finance. We are now considering more lease options on both a land or new build basis.”
