The 50 day Honda shut down has put yet more jobs at risk; this time at local firm TS Tech UK.
TS Tech UK operates out of South Marston and specialises in the manufacture of seats for the Honda Civic and CR-V.
Honda has announced the closure of its production line from February to March and as a result TS Tech will stop production from the 30th of January until the end of March.
Malcolm Corcoran, the administrative director at TS Tech, commented: “The company now needs to review its manpower base with both our permanent and temporary staff.
“All of our employees were informed yesterday of what is going on and we have started negotiations with our workforce.
“A recruitment freeze is now in effect unless, in exceptional circumstances, and we will have to consider redundancy, with elections taking place for representatives to take part in collective consultation,” he said.
