Law firm Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons has this year moved into the top 100 – coming in at number 91. It is the first time that a local law firm has been ranked in this elite group.

A year ago, Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons was described as “acquisitive” and “the one to watch” by the Lawyer Magazine. Over the past year, it has proved that it continues to be acquisitive and the one to watch.

Following the merger with Lee & Pembertons, the London office moved to new, larger offices in Pall Mall. Then another merger, this time with Wood Awdry & Ford, strengthened and consolidated the commercial, agriculture and private client services, adding offices in Cirencester and Marlborough to the existing offices in Bath, Bristol, London and Swindon.

The firm continues its momentum; finalising plans to move into a new Bristol office to accommodate several new recruits, including a new dedicated Family team. They have also added new specialist teams including an Equine team, an Insolvency team and a Utilities team.

Last year, there were over 30 partners with close to 300 staff. This year, there are over 50 partners with close to 400 staff.

As stated by Thomas Sheppard, managing partner, “We aim to offer national expertise and to build strong business relationships with our clients in local markets. It is not about growth for growth’s sake, it is about looking at how best to provide the services that our clients need, want and expect.”
